A big Thank You ..
And finally they are safe..
Yesterday our Embassay called all the Emarati families in Beirut (at least all of those i knew) and asked them to leave Lebanon at once for the situation was getting very serious.
Some of them stayed there considering it a "normal" situation and that things will chill. I would've thought the same yesterday up until Israel bombed the airport. The people at the embassy asked the families to gather in Beirut at the Embassay's headquarters and they'd secure their arrival to Dubai.
My family was there.. of course we were mostly worried about our grandma (poor she, the whole trip was meant for her as she was getting into a depressing phase of her life, and guess what.. she had to go through all this.) They stayed at the embasay waiting for as much families as possible to reach. And just before the sunset they moved towards the borders in busses provided by the Embassay.
Basically there is one major road to the borders and few other side roads. They all take u to some areas in the mountains and it feels like u are crossing a mountain to the other end of it. In normal days i'd tell u that it had the most lovliest views when u are up there; not anymore.
By almost 11:30 pm, they reached the lebanese borders and then only we were able to relax for we all were holding our breaths waiting for them to reach the borders as we know it will be a bit safer over there. Once they reached the Syrian borders my family left the busses to take another bus to my mom who was waiting for them in Syria; she herself was a worrier so i can imagine how she was. The rest left to Damascus Airport escorted by the representative of the Emirates Embassy in Damascus and then left to Dubai i believe.
A thank you should be said for all those people who had tried their best to guarantee a safe return to those families to Dubai given the present circumstances.
I know that with all the media and stuff we might maginify how things are there.. but at the end of the day not being in the circle is much worse than being in the situation itself. Uncertainity kills.
p.s. Beirut - Damascus International Road was totally DESTROYED early this morning.
Thank You GOD it wasn't last night.
