So Sheikh Nahyan denied the suspension... i wonder what was the look on your face Howard Reed when u heard the news.... hope you are enjoying your HOLIDAY with your SON in GREECE !!!!
A brief: he suspended 22 students of DWC because they didn't attend their PE classes (physical excersises) for it was COMPULSORY.. number was decreased to 7 when a lot made a fuss about it.. and the number is 0 now after Nahyan DENIED the suspension.. what a contradiction in statements...!!! I hope Nahyan realized the mess that was happening by now..!! Any actions towards Reed?

yah.. well.. economy is growing but is our patience too ? ;)
write a letter of complaint to HRH previous ruler of Dubai. I heard he doesn't like these things happening to the people of the Emirates..
this is just my assumption so forgive me
Sleepless in Muscat:
ummm...
Previous ruler of Dubai was Sheikh Maktoum.. who passed away..
in terms of the DWC issue.. Sheikh Nahyan 9ara7 yesterday.. i know he is looking at the issue personally..
The other issues.. a complaint letter won't be a solution.. its a matter of setting your priorities right..
: )
Hi Dots - yes, I agree, inflation seems to have crept into Dubai.
I am a coffee freak, and coffee prices freaked me out at starbucks in Dubai compared to NYC.
However something else that bothers me, is almost all of the expat community (even after so many years in the UAE) wants to do is "save, save and save and then save somemore" - else make more and more and then some more monies, whilst in the UAE. Very few seems to be investing in the country for the long haul?
Example: I am home shopping in Ajman, saw quite a few nice apartments by the Ajman beach (loved 'em all) went back the next day to sign up for a 2 bed and the price went up Dhs125k! in ONE day?
The realtor tells me, there are lotsa flippers in the market, i.e. folks who buy and sell homes, only to make a profit. Very few are interested to purchase a home for the long haul?
Oh well, with growth comes growing prices. am happy as long as I can afford shawarmas :) Amen!
lol yes as long as you can afford it.. but to tell you the truth proper dining is worth it every now and then ;)
its true what you said about the flippers.. i heard thats an issue especially now that SUPPOSEDLY the rents are supposed to reach a stable level..
as for the expats.. would they rather buy a property back at their home or here? i'd say back home.. i read once that 80% of what expats make is actually transferred out of the country.. again this was a few years back article.. i don't have any clue of the figures lately..
thanks a lot blogrosh for your comment.. informative :)
oh .. welcome back btw...hope the NY trip was worth it after all ;)
