Confessions...my first C.R.U.S.H

Today i was reminded of my first cursh...
Yes, my first crush...
Every girl must have had a crush in her life.. one or two.. or dozens or many...

It was back in school when i first met this person....i met him in a world of unknown reality...surrealist was it? it wasn't; for he was real...but..unreachable..

I heard a lot about him and the more i hear...the more i respect him... the more i dream of how he looks... how tall is he.. ( i heard he was very tall) .. the day i got to know he is "bold" just gave me a big smile.. it adds to his personality... and just makes him even more..........unique..
When people spoke about him i had the biggest smile.... and for some unknown reason *blushed*

He was all what a girl would want in a guy..
Let me ask you.. what would a girl want in the man of her life...
  • Respectable
  • Witty
  • Humble
  • Smart
  • Handsome
  • Speaks his mind
  • intuitive
  • responsive
  • empathetic to a certain limit..
  • can be so harsh when its something against his beliefs..
  • wise and smart..
i mean if i listed 365 adjectives i'd still feel i didn't mention everything about him...

I remember after classes when i went home and prayed '6hr (afternoon) prayers, i'd make sure í pray and say..

"God please in heaven let me see him"
"God you have mentioned that we can marry those we wanted to be with in life once we are in Heaven.. please God let me be one of Omar Bin Al Khattab's wives"

What was i thinking !!!!!

Yes..its Omar Bin Al Khattab ra'6iya allah 3anh...
The Second Khalifa...

He was a mixture of all virtues.. in all their contradiciton forms..

Fiercul as he can be when he defends Islam...yet the most sweethearted person when he sees a poor..

He had a charismatic personality...people respected him and obeyed him.. at the same time.. he was known for his humbleness..

In terms of management... well what can we say of such a leader.. transformational leader..charismatic.. motivational...diplomatic...but that did not mean he wasn't a systematic leader..

Tell me a girl who would think twice of a guy who was so courageous, outspoken, very smart, everyone respected him even the elder people, and everyone feared him too....not only that.. but he was one of the very very few who learnt how to read and write when he was a child.. at that time.. 10 of Quraish only knew how to read and write..

Whoever says that looks don't affect a girl's perception towards a guy would be ... not saying the whole truth ;)

He was athletic... broad shouldered.. muscular..
He was a good wrestler...
He was a professional "horse rider" ...
One of the best archors..
very tall...

Before Islam he was known for his stubborn attitude..if he believed in something he'd stick to it regardless anything..

What kind of decisions would a 26 year old make in these days? Life turning decision?
Well.. Omar Bin Al Khattab converted into Islam when he was 26.. lets reflect what decisions did we make so far in our lives... his decision changed 40 of people's decisions... 40 other men converted into Islam after he did... a 26 year old affected 40 elder men of his tribe.. cool eh !

Imagine a guy who would think of something or suggest something and God almighty would support his decision.. you know its not your manager's support you are getting here.. its God's..

there were a couple of verses in the Qoran that spoke Omar's wordings.. word by word..

When he became the Amir.. he managed to conquer a lot of the lands in Persia and Africa.. the time he ruled was known for a lot of military success to the Islamic nation (i dream of such days nowadays)

Omar was known for his strictness... but many experienced his humbleness..

Once he was walking at night like he normally does to check on his people..and he heard a woman's painful moans from behind a tent.. he went closer and he found a man sitting outside.. Omar ra'6iya allah 3anh asked him what was wrong with his wife and the guy told him that they came from far away and his wife was
about to give birth... alone..

Omar went to his wife "um kalthoom bint ali" and asked her if she was up for "ajir" God sent to her.. she agreed straight away and on their way they carried some foodstuff for the lady.. Omar's wife went to her and he stayed with the man.. he lit the fire.. and started cooking the food.. and the guy was so concerned about his wife he hardly had the chance to ask who was this man... When the wife gave birth... Omar's wife called up saying "Prince Omar... tell the man he was granted a baby boy" and then only the man knew who was this person...

Btw... do you know that Omar was one of the leaders who encouraged an OPEN DOOR POLICY..?

He was told that Saad (one of his ministers) stayed in a room that had a door of which people had to knock first and then enter... he sent to him asking him to "break" the door..
يا بن مسلمة أذهب فاكسر الباب وقل له يا سعد يا خال رسول الله من حجب بينه وبين الرعية حجب الله بينه وبين الجنة يوم القيامة

  • He was the first to have military records..
  • the first to order that a soldier should stay maximum a period of 4 months away from his wife..
  • He used to go to the soldier's wives and asks them personally what were the things they needed from the market (would you find a president doing your grocery shopping for you)

  • He felt he was responsible of everything.. he used to say "i swear if a mule tripped somewhere in Forat i would be responsible of it infront of God and asked why didn't i pave the road"
"والله لو أن بغلة عثرت بشط الفرات لكنت مسئولا عنها أمام الله، لماذا لم أعبد لها الطريق".
(hello Road and Transportation Authority)

  • His period was known for supreme equality ... lack of discrimination.. 0% poverty .. (that is real.. not slogans used in political campaigns)

  • He was the first to initialize the methodology of business entities (bayt mal al moslimeen) which was considered as what we call in this time "business entities" ..

  • He focused a lot on infrastructure projects..

Do you blame me if i had a crush on him ?

If only we had three leaders with his virtues.. !
